My First Band Podcast
Into the Music Podcast
In the early stages of my musical journey, I found myself enthralled by a diverse range of artists, beginning with the legendary Elvis Presley. This initial spark evolved into a passion that led me through the melodic landscapes of Debbie Gibson, the raw energy of Motley Crue, and the revolutionary sound of Nirvana.
In 1987, I embarked on my musical odyssey with the formation of my first band, a collaboration between my brother, our close friend Kevin, and myself. Armed with a keyboard, we composed original songs and honed our craft through spirited basement performances. By 1990-1991, my brother and I transitioned to the guitar, laying the foundation for our rock band. Over the years, our band underwent a few name changes before solidifying our identity as “Pudge” in 1996. Remarkably, our musical journey continues to this day. Additionally, I played bass in two bands, “Tyler & the Streeters,” and “This Handsome Stranger”, both bands hailing from the vibrant music scene of Appleton, WI.
The allure of hosting a radio show had always seemed appealing. In days gone by, my brother and I avidly tuned in to syndicated radio programs like Rock Line and Hit-line, where the highlight was often engaging with artists through caller questions. Week after week, we dedicated hours to calling in, affording us the extraordinary opportunity to converse with some of our musical idols. It was this very experience that ignited the inception of my own show, “Fox Cities Core.”
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Bob Minter for extending the invitation to join the Code Zero Radio family. Thus far, it has been an exhilarating endeavor, with all of us fervently dedicated to enhancing the overall listener experience.
Every Saturday morning, I take the reins as the host of “Fox Cities Core,” an hour-long program spotlighting artists from the Fox Cities area. Additionally, we welcome live calls whenever possible, fostering a dynamic and engaging environment.
For aspiring artists seeking a platform, I encourage you to submit your music for consideration for play on the station. If you’re interested in being a guest, I can be reached at andy@codezeroradio.com.
